Batty Lady Gaga wears studded bra and knickers to the baseball

Jeans and a T-shirt would have sufficed, but that's just not Lady Gaga's style. The singer wore a studded leather bra and a head scarf as she watched the San Diego Padres take on the New York Mets in New York last night. Despite her eye-catching ensemble it appeared Gaga had hoped she would somehow blend into the crowd. On noticing a sports photographer turn her way her good mood soured and she gave him the finger.

A Shrink Asks: What's Wrong with Obama?

So what is the matter with Obama? Conservatives have been asking this question for some time. I've written a number of articles trying to solve the mystery.   Even some liberals are starting to wonder. James Carville railed about Obama's blasé attitude after the catastrophic oil spill. The New York Times' Maureen Dowd revamped Obama's "Yes We Can" motto into "Will We Ever?" The liberal women of the TV show "The View" have expressed sympathy for Michelle Obama's living with a man so out of touch. Peggy Noonan, hardly a vehement Obama foe,  recently pronounced him disconnected.  Obama's odd mannerisms intrigue...

Peterson: Congress should 'look at' banning caloric pop from food stamp purchases

WASHINGTON — Rep. Collin Peterson on Thursday suggested Congress consider banning caloric soft drinks from being purchased with food stamps as a way to address obesity. According to multiple reports, Peterson said the proposed ban is "clearly is something we need to look at," though he added that he neither supports nor opposes the suggestion at this point. Peterson's comments followed a House Agriculture Committee meeting, in which a panelist suggested the embargo. The hearing was one of many Peterson is holding as an early preview of the 2012 Farm Bill, which includes the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The...

Vanity: Sad Commentary on America? (Line for Pop Culture at American History museum)

It was lovely weekend in Virginia so I drove up to DC and went to the American History Museum. Very special to see the recently restored Star Spangled Banner and the Lincoln artificats. The museum was busy as it was the last weekend of the Cherry Blossom Festival, although the flowers were gone. I was up on the 3rd floor and noticed a long line then I saw it was for the Pop Culture section; the most famous item being Dorothy's red shoes from the Wizard of Oz. I did not bother since I do not really care but I...

News Comments of the Day: A 'fat' tax on soda pop?

First lady Michelle Obama has made reducing childhood obesity a national priority, but it could take creative and controversial measures to really help American kids shed their pounds. A 1-cent-per-ounce tax on nondiet soda pop and other sugary drinks is one proposal that public health experts are floating. While many of our users agree that the tax would be helpful, some argue it doesn't go far enough. Be sure to follow the link above.

Jack Cashill: Decrypting Obama's 'Pop'

In 1988, the Center for Labor Education and Research (CLEAR) at the University of Hawaii-West Oahu produced a documentary about the life of Frank Marshall Davis. Best known today as the mentor of the young Barack Obama, Davis had died the year before on the island where he had lived for the previous forty years.  To understand the way the progressive media work, consider this: The documentary makes not one single mention of Davis's undeniable communist affiliations, his pornographic writings, or -- to be sure -- his flirtation with pedophilia. It was as if a producer had made a documentary...
